Tony Rath is a professional photographer based along the shore of the Caribbean Sea in the picturesque town of Dangriga, Belize. Tony Rath is a trained marine biologist and has worked as a diver and underwater photographer for the Smithsonian Institution; diving on oil rigs off California; and captaining a sailboat across the Atlantic Ocean and through the Mediterranean and North Seas. Tony first visited Belize in 1979, and moved there permanently in 1988. Since then Tony has explored and photographed most of Belize by land, sea and air. Tony Rath has also photographed the neighboring countries of Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

Worked as a first mate and captain of the 60' sailing ketch Cecilia. Crossed the Atlantic twice, over 130 ports and 40 countries.

Worked as a contract biologist for the marine division of Chamber's Group, an environmental consulting firm on the West Coast. Worked on numerous projects including clients such as NASA, Shell Oil, Army Corps of Engineers and more. Extensive field work involved both SCUBA and ROVs.
